Longtime readers of this cry for help will probably remember Tornado. During my black belt run in Taekwondo I had the pleasure and challenge of teaching low belts. Tornado was one of those low belts that had LOTS of natural athletic talent. He eventually reached the point in his development where myself and my instructor could barley contain him.
Since retiring from Taekwondo I’ve drank with–and kept in touch with–Mr. Tornado. Our school may have closed but Tornado trained on at a different location. I’m pleased to report that as of this past spring Tornado achieved his 1st dan from the Kukkiwon. Tornado is the one student that I have personally influenced to continue on. While his natural talent and skills surpass mine, I am nonetheless pleased.
Mr. Torndao is in China on business and sent me the above photo. Apparently when drinking in China you have to keep your wits about you!
