I’m learning Gong Li Quan so I decided to peruse YouTuber for some help. I’m a little surprised to see that Kung Fu also has stylistic differences. It was something I grumbled about in Tae Kwon Do. Apparently this has been going on longer than I realized. Another lesson learned!
Here’s the videos. Note that none of them are exactly how we do it Mantis style!
The first video was interesting and somewhat similar. I recognized clearing in the hand techniques but that’s about it. She goes much deeper than we do and is also missing a LOT of arm breaks. (or at least how we do them)
I’m not sure what this guy is doing. I recognize some of the long fist techniques but past that this version is far from what we do.
This guy is closer. However, his stances are way deeper than we are!
This guy is close but he’s missing a series of arm breaks.
The more things change the more they stay the same!
