I stand corrected on my comment about the “E-tool”. 27 kills and a Medal of Honor! I did not know that. When you think about it, if you had to defended an elevated position you’d probably be better off with an E-tool than a knife.
Oh and I also learned that the Beret’s are issued knives.
I guess when you only have 50 minutes there is no way to test every possible weapon or scenario. I wonder how they decide on the handful of weapons they do select?

I think they tend to go with what’s interesting, what hasn’t been seen on the show before, and what might make the matchup look about even going into the finale.

Matt –
I sure wish SPIKE would devote a few mintues each episode to explain that. Given the way the show runs one leaves with the impression that these were the only weapons a given warrior has to choose from.
I guess I could gripe on their forum!

If they took the time to go every EVERY tool/weapon/standard issue equipment, the show would last hours. I don’t believe that this was an accurate representation of a face-to-face between the SF and Spetsnaz. They have to be careful of national security when it comes to a public show.
I know by working with the green berets in Iraq, that they are an all-around soldier. When faced with a challenging situation, they have the ability to “think outside of the box,” quickly and effectively. Take the show for what it is worth, entertainment.

Definitely entertainment. Too bad they don’t have a disclaimer that says exactly that.
