It is clear from “How Bruce Lee Changed the World,” a documentary to be shown on Sunday on the History Channel, that Lee had a profound sense of himself.

Tenkara Karate School in Saratoga Springs held a test to promote 10 students to various degrees of Black Belt.

The odds are long. At 46, Izaki is 17 years older than her famously tough opponent and fighting not just age but officialdom.
- Reno instructor achieves sixth-degree black belt in Aikido.
Vince Salvatore of Reno recently reached the sixth-degree black belt rank in the Japanese martial art of aikido, an honor that took decades of learning and teaching.
- This Denver guy keeps writing about the martial arts.
The martial arts can give the student a concept about self mastery as becoming a black belt is really about mastering their behavior as the martial art molds the individual to perform a movement for a self-defense situation.
- Up until now Karate and Judo were illegal in Canada! Who knew?
No wonder karate always seemed to cool. Apparently it’s illegal.

Such innovation often involves highly exaggerated, robotic movement, bowing, lots of shouting, and possibly mullets. I’m not sure how the mullets got worked in there, to be honest.

Students at Harlan Elementary School may not be able to chop a brick in half, but they are sure showing their chops when it come to math, thanks to a karate themed program called Karate Belts that rewards students with colored wristbands after every quiz or test.
