The news is a few days early but ol’ Bob has few irons in the fire to take care of on Sunday!

Thompson knows he can’t fight forever. When his MMA career is over, he would like to go into contract or tax law.

A fighting tax lawyer? Thompson says it’s not that far-fetched.

  • High ranking judo official accused of molestation.

A high-ranking USA Judo official has been accused of drugging and sexually molesting teenage competitors he coached in the late 1970s, accusations that resurfaced last month in Internet postings by one of the sport’s top athletes.

Pakistan will organise a Taekwondo Peace Training Course from July 26 to August 17…Its main objective is to contribute to the promotion of world peace and enhance the image of taekwondo and the WTF in the international sports community.

The ban means they have to pay their way whereas the male amateurs fighting in the national titles are subsidised.

The martial art of taekwondo traces its origins back 2,000 years to Korea.

Well…sorta. ;)

The sport of taekwondo appears in the Olympics for the third time and although Asian countries have dominated, it has a surprisingly wide global base.

  • TapouT still holding a large share of the market for MMA gear. Now they’re moving to television.

The company is TapouT, the apparel outfit that sets fashion rules for the up-and-coming sport of mixed martial arts (MMA).

Gleason’s Gym is offering that same opportunity at their annual Fantasy Boxing Camp at Kutsher’s Country Club, August 29 to September 1, 2008…Gleason’s Gym is the oldest active boxing gym in the United States.

So when the Games were in Tokyo in 1964, judo came on board. And it is easy to see why since the Japanese usually dominate the sport.

The programme, which is the first of its kind in the UK, combines boxing and schooling, by placing tutors in the gym, to help kids with their problem subjects during training.

Learning karate helped 14-year-old Dana Cole deal with the teasing and the depression that came with having epilepsy.

“I can do that. It’s my lawn mower and my yard, so I can shoot it if I want,” Walendowski told police.

The best part? He voided the warranty!
