Weekly Wrap-up
April 4, 2008 by Bob Patterson
- Jack Drew writes about the benefits getting children involved in sports competition.
The chance to demonstrate his skills to an audience in a noncompetitive venue “will help teach him the sportsmanship side of it. He is not competing to be competitive, and I think he thinks it’s pretty cool that all these people are here to watch him.
- A taekwondo championship kicks off in Bahrain.
…BY BMAA IN ORGANISING SUCH EVENTS AND ENABLING BAHRAINI PLAYERS TO ACHIEVE GOOD RESULTS IN MARTIAL ARTS CONTESTS AT HOME AND ABROAD, WISHING THE ASSOCIATION AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP FURTHER SUCCESS.
- A martial arts expo comes to Ohio.
The event will focus on the martial arts opportunities in the community and in the surrounding area. There will be demonstrations by the Logan Karate Studio and Higher Power Promotions.
- One of those annoying Japanese television shows highlights a VERY choreographed Shaolin kid.
I don’t mean to take anything away from this kid but the whole video made my teeth hurt.
- This Blog talks about a new book that covers the history of the Shaolin Monastery.
- YouTube has a new video up which features karate tricks.
Ol’ Bob can guarentee that he won’t be prancing in the air like this any time soon!
Finally I’ll close with a short video on the history of karate. The video is old but it was recently posted on another site which is how I found it.
That’s a wrap!
